tegan and marv | halifax wedding photography

When I first met with Tegan and Marv, I would say it was ‘love at first sight’ for me! These two were one giggling bundle of cuteness and I knew I had to be a part of their day! Everything about them and what they were planning sounded perfect me… everything but one teeny tiny detail…

“April? In Nova Scotia?” I asked cautiously… they both nodded and responded “yeah, it’ll be spring, it’ll be nice!”… Tegan and Marv are from Victoria, which practically doesn’t have a winter… so I was definitely skeptical, but I smiled back and agreed, all the while in the back of my mind thinking… damn this is going to be one cold wedding!

Well as the wedding day approached, and the temps were hovering around freezing, all I could picture was little Tegan shivering at Peggy’s Cove in her beautiful lace wedding dress. But you know what? It turned out alright! Mother Nature graced us with a balmy 10 degrees! Tegan strapped on a pair of winter boots, and their guests curled up next to each other with comforters for the outdoor ceremony! It was like no other wedding I’ve ever been to, and I have to say it was pretty much perfect!

Being creatives, Tegan and Marv really excellently executed their wedding day vision! Tegan hand made almost every detail (from the ombre dip dyed table runner, to the cute little felted acorns). The decor was whimsical and romantic with soft blue and grey hues throughout (her custom dress included). Their intimate reception lit by candle light and surrounded by only their closest friends and family was cozy and sweet! I feel extra lucky to have been a part of this one…
