Some stories get to grow alongside you, and Stephanie and Courtney’s is one I feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed from the very beginning...

I first met Courtney (and subsequently Steph) through doing some photo work with the SPCA — a pretty perfect introduction, honestly (we are all animal lovers here!)

From day one, they both radiated warmth and kindness, and we became instant friends! Their love is the quiet kind that felt steady and real. Following along as their relationship unfolded has been such a gift, from their sweet and intentional lil elopement, to welcoming their daughter Ivy, to now capturing them together as a family as Ivy grows!

Watching people you admire step into new chapters of their lives never gets old — especially when those chapters are filled with so much love.

Their elopement was intimate... No excess, no pressure — just intention and connection (And some sweet Mrs & Mrs tattoos!) that felt true to them.

Then came newborn photos with Ivy, tiny and brand new, already so deeply loved. And now, family photos — full of movement, laughter, and the beautiful chaos that comes with this season of life.

I also want to say this plainly and honestly: being a queer ally is important to me.

Not in a loud or performative way, but in a real, human way. Love is love, families come in all forms, and everyone deserves to see themselves reflected and celebrated in photos. Photographing Stephanie and Courtney — and watching their family grow — is a reminder of why that matters.

Their story is one of real love, resilience, and joy. I’m so grateful they’ve trusted me to document so many of these milestones, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for them.

More of this, always.
